On Wednesday, March 2nd 2016 at 1400 British science writer, analyst and broadcaster Jonathan Marks will be hosting a 3-hr storytelling clinic at the High-Tech Plaza in Eindhoven. He’ll deconstruct some of the startup stories he has heard recently and look at how they can be made far more effective for an international audience. If you have wondered why Techcrunch or the BBC tech shows have not called you for an interview, then sign-up for the free workshop to understand some of the reasons why. And how to fix it. Jonathan explains the idea for this first experiment…
Space is limited for this clinic. You need to sign-up at EventBrite here.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed to help startups who have already validated their business model canvas and are at a point of scaling up their business outside the Netherlands. It is usually at this point that the company story needs to change.
We call it a clinic for a reason
There is no charge for this event. But during the session, you should be prepared to share a story of a startup or scaleup you have been involved in. I am encouraging people to submit websites or examples of media releases for us to look at before February 24th 2016. With some advanced notice, I can suggest improvements and perhaps show other examples from abroad that are relevant.
Why am I doing this?
People in the Netherlands often ask. So here’s my answer. I want help drive the movement to improve storytelling in the smartest sq kilometre on the planet. I have personally learned a lot by chatting with many brilliant minds in this region. Sharing some of my journalistic skills is my way of giving back. This event is not a sales pitch for any services that our guild of storytellers is currently doing in various parts of Europe.
The maximum number of participants in this experimental format is 40. Limit of two persons per company. This clinic will be held in English.
At 5 pm Jonathan Marks will share some remarks about storytelling during the regular Demos & Drinks Session that follows.
